Sue gave me the challenge of backlighting. I am horrible with lighting in general and could use an intensive course in that (also could use a better assortment of lights and lamps—one strong little flashlight here and no time to try to find and set up alternatives.

This is a comment that Ann H. LeFevre ( @olivetreeann) wrote on my photo the other day. " Back lighting is a broad term meaning the light is in the rear of the subject or coming from behind the subject. Rim lighting is when the light behind the subject only captures its outline." That made a bit clearer to me. Given that deinition, I think you met your challenge.
