2015-02-10 my landscape challenge l

Blue sky, finally. After several overcast, extremely cold and snowy days, the sun ist out.
Unfortunately, it is now also warmer and the beautiful snow will thaw away. I just came home from a snow shoe hike and found out, that I have been challenged by my 365 friend, Karin @karink, to post landscapes for the next three days and to challenge 3 other 365ers to do the same. As a Newbie I would rather hide in the background, and it is not my goal to challenge anybody, this is difficult to me!!! So please, if you have other plans, then let me know. I am now challenging Nova @novab, Susana @sgianettoni and Nick @nicknac.
The landscape may be one in your files and does not have to be new. Just tag it feb15landscapechallenge
Like the sense of perspective. Newbie or not, this is a very good photo!

So beautiful! I love the posts and the footstepts leading into the photo. Does the cross on the top of the hill symbolise something?

@karink Hi Karin. Thank you. Its a "summit cross". A cross on the top of a mountain or hill, serves as the summit marking and religious symbol. Often underneat a summit cross is a container or at least a weatherproof case with a summit register, where you can writ your name and the day in a booklet. They are predominantly found in catholic areas of the Alps, especially in Switzerland, Austraia and Bavaria. This one, is not really the summit of the mountain, but its a landmark.

Ok Mona, I'll play. I'm a bit nervous too, but I love the great outdoors, so I'll give it my best "shot". :)
February 10th, 2015
@novab Thanks Nova. I am looking forward to see a best "shot" from where you live.

@terryliv Hi Terry. You are right, there are wonderful landscape opportunities here. If they were not covered by a thick fog (like today), and the visibility is only 50 meters. But it is all over the world the same, you can have the most wonderful landscapes near you, you see them, you adore them, but still you have your daily workshifts, chores and duties to do. And it is not easy to have some free time, and a nice weather window simultaneously.
