2015-03-19 Lesser celandine

The German common name “Scharbockskraut” is derived from scurvy “Skorbut”, because its vitamin C-containing leaves were in earlier days taken against this deficiency. The plant is found throughout Europe and is now introduced in North America, where it is considered as invasive neophyte.

I like the yellow against the dark green background for contrast. Nice DOF as well.

Love your focus, comp, and dof, and the presence of the dead oak leaf, reminding us of the way life overcomes death in spring. Fav. I know this is considered invasive here in Canada, but there is a patch near where I live and I can't help loving it.

Beautiful focus and dof, and I always love that you give us a little background about what we are looking at.
