2015-04-20 high stem cherry trees

Last night I had a bit of a guilty feeling because I posted apple blossoms, even though our region is well known and quite famous for the high-stem cherry trees. And even more for the kirsch (clear distillated fruit brandy), which is obtained later from the cherries, and with which the famous Zuger Kirschcake (no cherries, kirsch only!) is enriched. For this reason, today, a real cliché image. Central Switzerland at its best. On the hill you see, cherry (all white blossoms) and some apple and pear trees. In the foreground is a pinkish mangnolia garden tree. And by the way, and not unimportant for me, this is the little church we got married nearly 15 years ago. The civil marriage we performed in Kaikoura, New Zealand ;-). As my husband is abroad for a business trip today, I sent him therefore a lot of greetings with this picture.
Gorgeous view!

Lovely capture Mona, but please don't feel guilty about yesterday's picture. Cherry blossom is lovely, but apple is my favourite blossom.

Think I'll have to visit this place - sounds fruity and with lots of kirsch! Great to see the wee church here and to know you got married in Kaikoura, just a bit further up the road than me!
