Another beautiful day. It is very rare that we have such nice and sunny weather in April. But the weather people forecasted a change from tonight on, and for several days there will be rain, snow, and no sun at all.
In the picture you see the tiny Soldanella alpina or alpine snowbell flower. It’s was I was after today. It is just 5 centimeters tall and blooms in alpine areas. Always at those spots at which the snow just has melted away. As soon as the soil dries, it withered. To find the Soldanella, I had to climb a nearby mountain. The trail was still partly covered with knee-deep wet, slushy snow. Very strenuous it was, but it was worth it!
