A few days ago I got this carved stone (made by a Swiss artist/stonecutter) as a gift. It’s a very hard mineral from the Swiss Alps and very difficult to carve. The stone was grinded and polished over thousands of years by glaciers and mountain streams to this large gravel (diameter 25 cm) and has now been decorated by Jean Badel with this beautiful symbol. I am very excited about this gift.
@Weezilou No wonder, you have not heard of these stones. The artist lives solitary in the mountains, is not well known and doesn't make a grand buisness out of it. Still his art is amazingly beautiful, for me.
@maggiemae Hope you feel better by now. The symbol: As I understand, the artist transforms old Engadine (region in the mountains of Grisons) symbols, in his unique and modern way. The base of the symbol indicates: divine splendor, fertility, harmony, creative force, perfection and invincibility. And it symbolizes the spread of love in all directions.
Insurance? I do not think someone would steal it. And if,... it would be anyway irreplaceable and irretrievable.
