Why should one not tell me the day before Christmas that I will lose my job in a few months? A job of 13 years, I did well (they said even excellent) and with all of my heart?
Obviously there is no reason, it's simply a matter of character.
After this information today, I feel very sad. I did anticipate this for a while and for a couple of logic and plausible reasons I understand the decision that they will withdraw this big mandate. Although I'm not shocked,… I’m just sad, sad, sad.
Tomorrow my picture will be full of warm tones, Christmas Spirit
and bokeh again,…but not today. Sorry.
So sorry to hear about it, Mona! And such a poor timing too for this sad news. I am glad you found an outlet for this in this photo, which is beautiful and captures the sadness you describe. I hope this will be a beginning of a new and beautiful road for you, although in the moment, it might not seem like it.
Oh my, Mona. That's sad news indeed. I'm sorry to hear about it. I agree with Vera @vera365 that your image is a wonderful evocation of how you're feeling. Bon courage and I hope you will have a reasonably merry Christmas despite this.
I will never understand why some corporations do this at this time of the year. Today is a day of sadness to be sure but the next couple of days are for rejoicing. I hope for you that this is one of those times when a door closes and another one ( a better one ) opens. All the best to you on this Christmas.
I am almost sorry that I FAV'd this shot as it comes with such sad feelings..and such insensitive timing from your employers... but you have channelled your feeling so beautifully .
After seeing and reading about the photos you have posted this year, I can understand how you would have given your all to your job as you were so thorough with your descriptions you posted. How very disappointing it must be for you, however, I know something good awaits you in the future. You know that saying where one door closes another will open, I'm sure this will apply to you. I wish you the best.
As usual your photo is awesome and expresses so clearly what you must be feeling!
You're the second person I follow that has lost their long term job in the last month. I don't know you but clearly you are a creative, interesting and compassionate person and I,m sure will prosper in whatever you subsequently do. A great image to reflect your low point.
I am very sorry to know this is happening to you sweet Mona, even if it makes for a very beautiful low key shot. I know it is easier to say from another point of view (rather than when it's happening to you), but you have a few months to get things together and get another job, which will undoubtedly come to you - particularly since you are excellent at what you do. Meanwhile please don't let it damper you mood! And have a very merry Christmas... xo
I don't know you but I am sorry to hear that, sometimes things happen in a way that we don't understand, for now I hope you feel better tomorrow and the next days.
I have never faced unemployment and now much too old to consider working. To be told this news just before Christmas is cruel and nasty. Trust you will find work in the New Year.
Meanwhile enjoy your Christmas.
So very sorry to hear your sad news. As others have said I am sure the new year will open up new possibilities and a new job. In the meantime enjoy your Christmas.
What a terrible disappointment; your photo tells the sad story. Amazing, and affirming, that you know tomorrow's shot will be warm and spirited once more.
I'm sorry to hear about your sad news. Hopefully 2016 will offer you new and exciting opportunities. Your photograph sums the situation up beautifully. It's very moving.
I am so very sorry about this unfortunate and cruel timing of your employment news, but as usual you have created an incredibly emotive photograph to convey your feelings. I certainly hope they felt that they had to tell you today to give you plenty of time to find a new job, but the must have known how this would impact your holidays. I hope it does not dampen your spirit, and hope that you will find something much better in the new year, and this will become a distant sad memory! Enjoy your Christmas....it's the people in our lives that matter most!
Oh Mona, I am so sorry. I totally understand how you feel. 13 years is a long time, but you know, as one door closes another opens. Your image shows wonderfully how you feel. I look forward to something happier tomorrow though. Chin up and try to enjoy your Christmas. xxx
The photograph is a stunning reflection of your narrative, executed very well in low key, with the body in the back third of the image with just enough of the body illuminated to show the despair. I am so sorry you are going through this. And I do hope you will find something new!
Any one who can turn sadness (I'd be sad at the cruelty of the Christmas announcement timing as much as the job loss) into a stunning work of art will do fine in the future. This is a fav.
Oh my dear friend, I am so sorry to hear of the sad news today. I send you love and positive thoughts and more love and a big HUG too.
But this image is an amazing capture. I know you will come out into the light once again.
Please store this feeling somewhere within yourself because you can turn it into something beautiful as we all can see above. The rest will work out just well because of your enthusiasm.
Mona, I'm so sorry to hear that. And your sadness comes through in this beautiful photo. I hope tomorrow is "merry and bright" for you and that you will find something new that will be even better for you.
Oh Mona, I am so sorry to hear this. The news must have been very heartbreaking. It makes me think of another alpine spirit who was told that "Whenever god closes a door, he opens a window" (20 bonus points if you catch the reference). So it's fitting you are sitting near the door frame, in the middle of a transition. This is a beautiful photo, and one that I am sure you will look back on with a lot of emotion for years to come. Hugs.
As you say goodbye to the disappointments and sorrows of 2015 here's wishing you exciting ventures, interesting challenges, and a new found prosperity in 2016. Happy New Year! (Love the minimalism and negative space you created with your lighting ... these ever seem to elude me.)
I'm so sorry, Mona. Although I have never met you, I feel I can say that they are (to put it mildly) not wise to let an employee of your calibre go, and very insensitive to tell you when they did. I hope you find something really wonderful in the new year. This shot conveys your mood very well. Fav.
As usual your photo is awesome and expresses so clearly what you must be feeling!
Meanwhile enjoy your Christmas.
But this image is an amazing capture. I know you will come out into the light once again.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement.
