On my way home (already to late) I had to stop to capture thoses rays.
Interesting for me: this is a phenomenon of atmospheric optics. Caused by the occlusion of the sun by atmospheric haze. Like in this case by clouds, which is why in my language (German) they are in also called Wolkenstrahlen (cloud rays). Despite seeming to converge at a point, the rays are in fact near-parallel shafts of sunlight, and their apparent convergence is only a perspective effect (like that parallel railway lines seem to converge at a point in the distance).
Spectacular image, and I really enjoyed your commentary! I found it particularly interesting that the rays are actually parallel. Awesome choice to do this in black and white. Very dramatic! FAV!
