Our city and region (Central Switzerland) is famous for its cherries (Swiss German: Chriesi). The culture is about 400 years old and dominated by the cultivation of cherries and a variety of customs and a lot of different cherry products. (Cherry kirsch, cherry syrup, cherry cake (only for adults!), and even cherry sausage).
