Yesterday afternoon, after I got off the computer, I saw this lovely guy taking a bit of shade in at my back door. Isn't he lovely? Blue Tongue Lizards are native to Australia and are harmless. They have a gorgeous cobalt blue tongue that is used as a warning mechanism to ward off predators; otherwise, they are easily handled. When I pick them up they blat at me and wriggle before I put them out of harm's way from feral cats around the area in my Aloe Vera patch.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
I had seen a smaller one yesterday morning on my way home from the post office... he was just as cute, but more grey than this guy. This one is a regular around my garden; and that's why he didn't just bolt when I got my camera out. But I did have to move slowly so he didn't feel threatened. I haven't picked this one up as he's too fast for me; and he's an adult.
