I used to do the ironing for Mum and Stevie hated it - screeching all the time - and so, I'd get one of Dad's work shirts and throw it over the cage. It would keep her quiet for a while... then one day, I found out why.

My Grandmother always had a blue budgie and it was always called "Stevie". She had one that used to pass out on the bottom of the cage and my grandmother would revive it by waving a teaspoon full of brandy under it's beak. I think the bird liked a drop of the hard stuff!
