The Cover by mozette

The Cover

I finished this on Sunday afternoon; and it turned out a lot better than I anticipated!

The back of it is covered in classics and books from the past - as well as books I've read which are classics in their own right.
The front are books that are considered newly published. Some of them are books that I've read, some books I'd like to read, some I've tried to read and some I have and want to read.
Wow Lynda, this really is looking great. You should feel good about the project.

@digitalrn Oh, I am! Over the last week, I've been getting to bed around 10pm or so and crashing as soon as my head hits the pillow - I'm that tired from working so hard for 3 hours straight on it. And at night, I'm also working hard on a baby's blanket for a married couple who are friends of mine who are having their first baby... I get in and start on it half an hour after I finish working on the altered book (at around 3:30pm) and finish my knitting session on that at around 8:30pm... so after that I'm pretty stuffed and ready for bed.

*Phew* I'm working hard on all kinds of arty things lately! :) But I love it. :D

An Artist's Book!! LOVE this! I used to take classes to make artisit's books...making them grows on you! Soon you'll be looking for old books you can alter throughout! If you're not familiar with the concept, google images of "Altered books" or "Artist's books"...lot to inspire!

@digitalrn @weshook @Weezilou @loey5150 thank you all for your lovely comments! I've had such a lot of fun working on this book. And yes, I've done Altered Books before, Louise, and they're a lot of fun. However, I've never done a whole one on my own; only a part of one and then posted it off to the next person (these are done through Bookcrossing where you take part in an international Altered Book; lots of fun). I hope people read it and enjoy what I've written about my life of reading, collecting books and how I became a writer. :)

@mozette My daughter and I have both been participants in Altered Book exchanges...I love doing that sort of thing! Actually, she started an art journal and passed it to me and we've been swapping it for years! For the present, it's back on my desk..must do something about that when I have more free time back in California!
