Home Festival 2012

I went to the Home Festival yesterday (it's Sunday today) and had a great time! I was dropped off by Mum at around 10am and was set up in around 45 minutes with the other 8 artists.
The instalment attracted a lot of attention... and I loved it that my brother, Gabe, Kat and my niece Riley showed up to see it! And what a day for it! Look at that gorgeous blue sky! The temperature was perfect with a lovley cool breeze too.
What a great day it turned out to be. I was there until around 4pm when the music at the main stage really kicked in to high gear and got the place jumping. But I was stuffed... and really wanted to go home and put my feet up. After all I had been going around the jumble sales, listening to performance poetry and even scored myself a first edition poetry book! That stunned my fellow collectors and they asked how I found it... and found out how I did it. I even handled a baby Cockatiel... such a cute little bird who just loved a cuddle (much to her owner's shock; but she relaxed when I said I owned a bird much smaller).

The day was great. I received great feedback about my book; most from people who were amazed about how much I'd been through in my life and still want to be published despite my disability and problems. I would definitely do this again.
It certainly was a great day. So glad it turned out so good Lyn.
