Orchids are hard to take a good photograph of. At least that's how it is for me. But I keep going back (to the Botanic Gardens) to take more pictures because I think they are beautiful.
I am not certain but I think this is another oncidium orchid or what is commonly called the dancing lady orchid. The last time I uploaded an oncidium orchid photograph was in December: http://365project.org/myautofocuslife/365/2011-12-14
Yes !!! I`m very pleased . A Tango ? ( Kidding )
Beautiful pic of a beautiful orchid . Do you grow orchids at home ?
In Holland it`s very popular. They are cheep nowadays
Gorgeous. I looked to see what your f/stop was because you have managed to get the pokey out bit and the petals in focus (unlike me, where it is always one or the other), but it was not there. Well done.
great picture! last week I bought orchids to celebrate 9 yrs with my girlfriend. tried to take a shot but couldn't capture anything decent. this looks great
You have captured them beautifully. The colours are beautiful. I love Orchids, I am just bad at looking after them! No matter what I do they never last too long! Love this!
Wow, what a beautiful photo and gorgeous orchids. You captured incredible detail and color of these orchids. I would say that it has been worth going back and forth to take and retake photos of these beautiful flowers. FAV for me
@stuckinoz I'm sorry about that! I did some searching and reading on the forum and it looks like that information is not available on any of my photographs because I use a 12-year-old version of Paint Shop Pro to edit my pictures. I don't recall what f-stop I used. It could have been a 6.3 or 8. I'm guessing. But I still have the original shot on my card. Is there any way to pull that information out?
@myautofocuslife No problems Livia. I think the only way you could see the info from the card would be to put it back in your camera and view the photo in your camera. My camera then tells me the shutter speed and f stop for that photo. No need to go to all that trouble, I was just wondering. Thanks :)
@myautofocuslife Thanks! I was having problems photographing a hibiscus that had a really long stamen sticking out the front. So I was wondering how you managed to get the pointy bit and the petals in focus.
A big, beautiful, dancing "THANK YOU!" to everyone. I appreciate your visit very much. Thank you for taking the time and for being so encouraging. Thank you!

Nice shot. I think orchids are easy, they are so interesting, they do much of the work for you.
