It's OK Damon, you are not alone. My daughter has a stationery fetish too. Unusual erasers are her thing at the mo. Her favourite is one shaped like a toadstool!! Good tones!!
@june - Thanks for that. Yes. 54 shots, three different lighting set ups, two different tripod setups; two different backgrounds and about 2 hours work to get this SOOC.
Haha, I was just thinking today that this sort of thing must be genetic! My mom, sister, aunt, and I went to Office Depot today and we all wandered around for ages looking at all the pens and notebooks and such. Heaven!
What is it about stationery, I wonder? My daughter and I have the same fetish - and a lot of other people do too by the looks of it! Unused notepads are my favourite. :)
All the hard work paid off - this is a wayyyy cool composition and perspective.
@dulciknit I agree. The stationery fascination is very peculiar. But fun too! Actually this is one of my fav still life shots. I have been trying to get a third pen shot from these pens for years. Not succeeded yet despite the high key one. I have decided that one is not in the same vein. Gotta think again now. I am sure I will get the third shot one day!
@netkonnexion This one is more what colouring pens are about, I think. A sort of celebration of the bright colours and that whoopee feeling you get when you look at them. Add to that the resemblance to a firework rocket exploding in the sky and - yay, fun!
Grin.
