Identify This! No.71

What is the object today? It's certainly not a flash in the pan. Ever seen one before?

Yestderday you saw...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dark and mysterious shot yesterday was of course an open stapler. Yaya!!! Not too difficult.
I am sure that most people got it or knew it in their heart of hearts. So well done!
Honorable mentions to...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

scooter - I am thinking stapler.... Net says:-->> Wow! Thats really going for it!

Brandie Moody - Pocket Anti-Werewolf Weapon! Net says:-->> Great idea. I want one with silver staples now! LOL. A Doohicky Plus Award for that one. Yayyyyyyaaaaah!

Howard N - But, but, it is the underside of what appears to be a common household stapler vs the industrial, heavy duty variety. Some might call it one of the first automated fastening systems, others would not say that! Net says:-->> LOL... Nice one. OK, you get tonights "Smart Stapler Spotters Silver Award"! LOL.

Nancy Holte - I do believe it's the staples inside of a stapler. Either that, or a very advanced mouse trap. But, to be honest, without your clue, I would have been, well, clueless. Net says:-->> Love the mousetrap idea! LOL. Probably inhumane! Nevertheless it gets a Doohicky Award! Yeeeha!

Shirley Chetwynd - a staple will definitely hold it together.so a stapler it is. Net says:-->> Ah! All clued up eh? Nice one... LOL.

Paula Brumbe - this will so fix @aj1268 ac problems? In America all we need to solve anything is WD40, Twine, gum, duct tape, and STAPLES. Net says:-->> Excellent answer... You get the "Swiss Army Doohicky Award!" Yayayahoooo!

Kathy A - Yes, yes it's a stapler! Net says:-->> Patience, patience! LOL.

Jennifer C - stapler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and staples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Net says:-->> Pleased with our answer are we? LOL.

judith deacon - It's a metal case designed for the safe delivery of staple fasteners! Net says:-->> Tonights Health & Saftey Award for Staplers goes to Judith Deacon!!!

june milner - great shot clue and guessers. Without the others I would have been undone, definitely not held together. Net says:-->> You get tonights "Honesty Award!" Yippeeyippyyaha! LOL.

Well done everyone. Thanks for the fun.

This is something made in Taiwan. It could very well be a flash bracket of one kind or another. Am not sure how it mounts, but probably through the holes pictured, to the tripod thingy. Maybe!
July 20th, 2011
Is it the thing that you screw to the bottom of your camera to attach it to the tripod? Even if it isn't, I can say with 99% certainty that it's made in Taiwan, and considering how old my eyes are I'm happy to have at least gotten that far. :-)

My wild guess of the day--the bracket to attach a flat screen tv to the wall? :-(

Is it an arm that you attach to the base of a SLR, which then goes off to one side, which a flash unit is then attached to, so that for instance you can do portraiture where the flash would then be on top of the camera so that shadows can be minimised?

looks like a hotshoe on the right hand side but then the hole in the middle looks like it might possibly be threaded...... my guess is something to do with a camera and/or the camera flash

While I am running a victory lap for the stapler win, I am positive that this is the missing piece of @aj1268 air conditioning.

My husband says it is a whatchajigger to hook a thingamajig to. To me, it looks like something for a camera, possibly a flash, looks like a hot shoe to one side. Most likely for a 35 mm camera, as it was made in Taiwan, ROC.
July 21st, 2011

July 21st, 2011
