This incredible young man is 13. "T" is the son of our friend, who is a farmer. T has farming running through his veins.
He and his Dad went to a livestock market on Saturday and bought two bulls to add to their existing stock. Dad chose one, and T chose the other. This is "his" bull. He is 17 months old and weighs 900kg.
T hadn't handled a new bull before. He did so with respect, and authority in equal measure. T is already a successful show champion (beating establish adult handers!) with his own sheep that he breeds and he plans to show this bull as well as use him to breed on the farm. Can't wait to see him in the ring with this handsome beast.
Lovely story about an accomplished young man. Nicloa, I worked for years in our University Animal and Veterninary Sciences Department and we loved kids like T. Little farmers or vets in the making, such great kids both the men and the women. I worked with the team who cloned the first mule! We had bulls and we had artificial insemination. One of the women who worked under me (I was the financial person) would take invoices that had semen purchases on them and write across the invoice in the biggest letters BULL SEMEN! She said she just loved sending that to accounts payable. I'd always laugh.
