In Memory _ Sycamore Gap

This is the famous sycamore tree which until recently grew in a gap in Hadrians Wall, an ancient barrier built across the width of England to keep the Scottish armies from invading England. It has recently been cut down and two people were arrested, it remains to be seen if they will be charged. It's sad that such an iconic scene no longer exists, although they hope salvage seeds to perhaps grow another one. Apologies to all the UK members who already know about this, but I stumbled across this picture I took last year and felt the need to upload it.
Very sad that such an iconic tree was cut down. Glad you got a shot of it before the vandalism.

Such a shame that the tree has been felled but so good that you captured this great shot.

A wonderful shot of a tree that is now just a sad memory. I really struggle to understand why someone should cut this magnificent tree down.
