Bleak Creek by northy

Bleak Creek

This was taken in Oshawa. I have no clue what this creek's name is, and I think in high summer with the greens in bloom in might just possibly look magical. On a greyish chill morning in March, it looked magically bleak.
at least it's not frozen! lol. cool shot and matching caption. it'll be nice to see the end of the grey, wont it.

I love the use of the trees as a frame, really beautiful composition. Works great in b&w too.

Was this by the library? That would be Oshawa Creek. Imaginative name...I know. You really should give me a dingle and we'll go have a wander around!

@shutterbugger i think i was further north than the library... likely around king street maybe? shot was taken facing south... i was in oshawa on thursday... my oldest (12) had two lacrosse games... i had maybe 30 min before the first game to wander around on my own and that was pretty much it... i almost tagged you the day before but thought you would be still away doing the sugarshack thing... oh - and you have very community minded police in oshawa... a policewoman pulled up next to me while i was taking a shot asking what i was doing and why!!! she was very nice, but i got the sense she was wondering whether i was a problem... i was taking a shot of the parking garage near the GM centre, with the crenelated roof and the stairs you can see thru the window... shot did not turn out as i had hoped... anyhoo... the other shot i took that day was inside the GM centre... http://365project.org/northy/just-because/2012-03-15

@northy I came home on Wed, but seeing as I had left my husband at home, I had to clean up after him most of the day on Thurs! jerk
That would still be the Oshawa Creek...runs through the city. Next time you should go to the 'Botanical Gardens' 155 Arena St.(google it) Nice bridge there and a great looking gazebo. http://365project.org/shutterbugger/365/2011-03-19
Not too far from the GM Centre.
Maybe our fine police force thought you were a potential terrorist? I was told the same thing when I tried to shoot the courthouse!

@shutterbugger tx Jenn... i'll definitly let you know next time before i head out that way... tx for the tip on the gardens... i will definitely check it out! as for your police, do they really think oshawa is a likely target for terrorist activity? hee hee... actually, my guess is she thought i was trying to get "gotcha" shots, or something... altho' my camera equipment isn't anywhere near what i would assume a private investigator who does that kind of thing would have ;p
