Off to the beach... by northy

Off to the beach...

Yeah... i could have left it in colour, and i could have cropped more off the top... but i didn't... so there ;p

The kid in this one is mine :)
You framed this so well.. doesn't need cropping! would like to see it in colour, but the B&W works well here :)

And has a bird flying.. or is that a spot on my monitor..??
I really like it in Black and White.

@sugarmuser tx! colour version is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/northy44/7641113374/in/photostream

it looks fairly washed out (i was shooting into the sun)... if i had decided to leave in colour i would have likely tweaked a fair bit... note the yellow grass due to lack of rain...

@cheribug bird ;p tx :)

@northy OK… the B&W is so much better, more mood, better clarity. You chose well :)

Beautiful

That's cool catching him going through the gate. It adds some perspective to the shot.

I like it in the colour version as well.

did you get that comment in the right place :P? interesting in b&w - and the child makes this shot

Make me think how tiny and insignificant we are in this big, beautiful world. Perfect.

Like this one. I love how it's the small elements (the child, the boat, the bird) which make the shot. I like it in b&w too.

Sue
the crop is great, and the kid in the gate makes for a nice touch.

I like both - your kiddo seems to pop more in the color version, and the muted colors work really well. This one is also great - I feel like I focus more on the landscape.

This is a really stunning shor

I like this b&w more than the color version! Wonderful!

Why should you crop more at the top, I like the balance of this picture, makes the boy look insignificant in the big world

I like the balance here, I agree it doesn't need any more cropping.

Looking at the colour version, this is definitely much better in black and white.

This is a photo that would print well! ;)
