This is the Toronto Skywalk - an above ground covered walkway that joins Union Station, the Metro Convention Centre, CN Tower and the Rogers Centre... it is BIG!
I am not much one for marking milestones, and as 2012 has 366 days in it, I am counting tomorrow as the end of the year... but this will be in my project marking day 365 and I really wanted it to be a streety shot... although it is Sunday, my husband kindly drove me downtown this morning so I could take my new lens out for a spin in the big city :)
Goodness - this would suffice for a good walking trail - and in air-conditioning, I expect? You don't have to go outside and in Toronto in the winter time - that's a plus!
Oh my goodness this is so very beautiful my dear! It is an incredible point of view! I love all the lines and the way your eyes follow it to the end! :) And great expressions of the kids faces :)
I'll hold my congrats until tomorrow's shot! I'm excited to see your end of the year shot :) I hope you had a super time with your lens downtown! And what a sweet hubby for taking you! :)
Amazing and a fav. What a great looking tunnel! I wasn't expecting today to say 100% complete. It kinda freaked me out. I am counting tomorrow as the end of the year, too.
Amazing Northy! Out in the woods at the moment but thought I'd take a minute to wish my friends a Happy New Year, to you and yours! May it be a happy and prosperous year fro you and yours dear friend! Thank you for being there for me, thank you for teaching me so much !
Cool shot with symmetric converging lines and arch patterns to the vanishing point. The symmetry broken by the figures is really strong as well. Great shot, and congrats on the anniversary here. Happy New Year.
wonderful shot Northy, and a great way to end your first year. Congratulations on a great album and for hosting so many great challenges this year, so glad you're sticking around
i have shot this walkway a number of times, probably from the same point of view but not one ever looked as interesting as this one. great shot, kiddo, and happy new year to you and your family.
@northy Sweet as, I found it odd using my 11-16 too, ended up walking into things if I was looking through the eye piece! What other lenses do you have? Keep shooting amazing photos, I love seeing them!
@davidwren tx so much David - such a nice thing to say :)
and - ha ha ha! yes! "objects in the viewfinder are closer than they appear" ;p when i was working on the above shot, people would walk off the escalator... in my viewfinder, they seemed reasonably far away and i thought (as i generally do) that they will prolly think i'm just shooting the scenery and they have nothing to do with it... until i realized they were walking like 3 feet in front of me!!!!
i also have an older kit lens 17-85 (and in this case i think older is better - i think it has more glass than today's average kit), a fairly poor quality tele 55-200 and a 1.8 nifty fifty... oh, and the good macro lens (i was thinking today what i collected (for the word per day challenge and lenses was the only thing i can think of!)
Absolutely incredible. Gorgeous. I love the checkerboard pattern that the light and dark glass make on the ceiling. Fabulous choice, with the black and white. Job well done!
I'll be shooting tomorrow too, but it is very nice to see the 100%. Congrats. :)

Happy new year.
That I pulled it off the PP and knew it was you! Congrats on 365!
Congratulations on completing the project!!!
