Working on my get pushed challenge this evening, which was set by Mary (@m9f9l). Her challenge to me is "translucent". I'm not entirely certain this works. Pearls are supposedly translucent, but i am thinking that the light is more reflection (the pearls are sitting on an iPad with the soft box app) than shine thru. But i kind of liked the results nonetheless, so here ya have it.
"Irritant" because pearls are the mollusc's response to an irritant, and "extreme" because i know how hateful it is to have a grain of sand in one's eye ;p

@m9f9l not sure this quite qualifies as translucent - but i wanted to see if it would work... i have several other ideas to try before the week is out :)
I used pearls for my "Get Pushed" challenge this week as well, it's interesting to see how the same object can be used in much different ways. Nice shot.
This is a beautiful photo. I understand your frustration though. I believe pearls are said to be iridescent.. Not translucent. Maybe that was aching the photo to not be exactly what you wanted? Either way, the shot is great. Love the lighting.
