at James Gardens

Today is a holiday in Canada. My husband is off with our oldest son who is playing in lacrosse finals, and the twins are playing ball with a friend at a nearby park. So I took myself off to James Gardens in the hopes of finding some inspiration for the new black and white challenge set by @newbank - this fortnight's theme being "gardens." That would be moi deep in the background adding some human element ;p

A marvelous feel to this. Love the tones and the bit of moi. Human element rocks, I think:).

Great PoV and IMHO the contrast does not need boosting... in fact, if this had been mine, I would have increased the exposure a bit.

Superb image.

Great POV. No need to tell us it's you in the background, I figure if we can't see a face, it's yours! ;-)

There are so many great things about this shot, the perspective the textures with the water and leaves and branches and wood, and then there is the figure for balance... super sweet shot, well done you!

Creative and interesting. Great composition!

Great use of lines to draw you in to the scene. The human factor is perfect here. If you were to push the contrast further, I'd suggest masking it so that it is only applied to the bench.

Wonderful - fav! I love the lines in this that take me into the figure (you) in the background. I also like the forced perspective, if that is the right term, re the sizing. Just overall a really strong composition.
