Hello and welcome Black & White Fortnight. This is a new challenge for those of you who are interested in black & white photography. The challenge will work as follows........
Each fortnight I will announce the new theme for the fortnight and the tag to use for it. You can also upload images to the thread if you want to share your work with a wider audience. At the end of each fortnight to end the theme I will start a thread "Your favourite Fav of another 365er from the fortnight" to share the work created over the fortnight. I have some ideas for themes, we will see how people take to this new challenge. If people enjoy it I will ask at some point for any themes people would like to be challenged with.
So let's kick it off this week with Gardens....Why Gardens? Gardens are probably more associated with colour photography, all the amazing colours in the trees, flowers and wildlife. I'd like us to have a look at how that beautiful colourful world can also look stunning in black and white. It could be your garden, a friends, family or a public garden. Don't just look at the nature in it, look at all there is to be found, the flower pots, the kids playing, dogs playing, garden furniture, bikes.... Get outside and look anew at gardens anew.
The tag will bw-fn-1 The fortnight will run Monday 19th May - Sunday 1st June.
Hope you all enjoy it. If this isn't a theme you like please do pop by next fortnight, I aim to have a wide variety of themes to keep us inspired, interested and interacting with the world around us and our cameras.
This sounds like so much fun and the first theme is especially perfect since I am a passionate - but I seldom have time for - gardener.
Please add me to the list.
Annie asked me if I would be interested in this theme because I love b&w photography. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it at the moment, but I will give it a go today. Will post later this afternoon. Thanks for the invite @annied
I'm in. This may be quite a challenge for me as I "see" gardens in color. Do I need to post my photos here or just on "my page"? Oop! I just discovered that I don't know how to place a photo into this thread.
@daisymiller There's a drop down menu right next to the Post Reply menu, "How can I format my reply?' There are several choices to add URL links, img URL etc.
I use the img src="URL" option. (the code has brackets but I had to delete then to save the code for you, be sure to copy the entire code including the brackets)
1. Save the photo on your profile, go to the thread/page you wish to post the photo
2. Open "Post A Reply" or "comment", choose the "How can I format my reply?", copy this code: img src="URL" and then paste it into the comments section.
3. Open another window for 365 and go to your profile, double click to enlarge the photo you wish to enter
4. Right click the image, choose copy the image URL
5. Return to the thread/page, and paste the code where the letters URL reside (you must delete the letters URL and paste the code there)
Clear as mud? Someone else may have an easier way to accomplish the task and explain it better.
You can post the photos here and on your profile, just remember to tag them with: bw-fn-1
@yrhenwr yes. Theme will change every fortnight but you can do as many or as few as you like. There is no voting intthis thread so post as many as you get inspired by.
Please add me to the list.
@onewing thought you might like this
I couldn't decide which one I liked better so here are two pics for the Black and White Fortnight! Let me know if you want me to delete one, thanks

Faults aside, it reminds me of gardening in the sunshine, which can't be a bad thing.
Our quiet place in the garden.
Starting to sprout.
