my favourite bit is the stems... i'm sure this would look MUCH better in black and white! ;p
another one for my get pushed challenge, set by Steve (@scarybird)... he challenged me to take a photo of something that scares me, a person, a place, a thing or even a type of photograph.. and it must be in colour...
so there you have it: (1) this is still life... i don't do still life... i don't shoot things that are meant to be nothing more than they are... i have no clue how to handle light or composition... none... (2) it's colour... and more than one colour at that... (3) it's high key... something i only ever do by accident...
COLOR!!! This screams Northy. Ok, not so much, but it does scream amazingness. Love the color and high key. Rocked your push. You going to become a color lover now, you think? Fav!
Cleansing breath... this is lovely. Done. Onwards to the comfortable place. Sorry you don't like it here, because the results are beautiful, but everyone has to stand where their feet meet the ground.
Great shot . I love that only the top of the bottle is depicted and the stems balance it so well. The colors are great. I think it is perfect and wouldn't likely be improved by converting to B &W
Wow, that must have truly been scary.....three colors, not just one, but you made it sing! I know you had to render it colorless, but I really love this version. FAV!
Northy Fantastic absolutely stunning and Colour !! You met the challenge perfectly in true "Get Pushed" tradition by taking you out of your comfort zone. I hope you enjoyed it in a funny sort of way?
As for your challenge to me I have had a very busy week so not had time to even look at it BUT I am not giving up on you as I want to try low key and will do it in the next few days even if I miss closing time for voting. I hope that will be ok. Steve
@scarybird tx so much Steve... it was an excellent challenge for me, and indeed, i enjoyed it :) no worries about the challenge i set you... i know how quickly life can get in the way of a hobby! i look forward to seeing what you come up with once you find the time...
It's wonderful to be paired with you for Get Pushed this week and I have loved looking back through your photos (and found some favs in the process).
I had a few ideas for your challenge but I must admit you have also helped me enormously by so thoughtfully describing what you have found difficult about your previous Get Pushed challenges.
So, this week I'd like you to take a SOOC image using light and shadow to create a sense of drama. I do hope this is OK and that you enjoy it - let me know if not and I can always give you a different challenge :)
I do love the traffic light colours. I do like the comp and the lighting and I like it all enough to fav this but tbh I actually prefer your inverted b&w version to this xx
Fav
