5:46 - i blew it! by northy

5:46 - i blew it!

the world wide minute thing is a pretty cool idea - but of course it stresses me out... because... what if i'm nowhere interesting at 5:47? what if the light sucks? what if my camera fails? what if my camera is out of sync with my watch?

so - this was taken at 5:46:29... i am sure, however, it was 5:47 somewhere... i do have a couple shots that show up as 5:47 on the camera, but they suck and i spend all my days following rules so i figure i'm entitled to break them at night ;p
Love the shot nonetheless!

I have the same stress and yet no matter how much I worry my shot is ALWAYS incredibly boring. But, isn't just the spectacular. As always this is a lovely photo and I thank you for sharing your World Wide Minute 2017!

I understand your stress- mine is that I'll forget to do it because I'm preoccupied with something else. As it turns out, I posted the shot and got distracted with looking at the other photos and the soup on the stove boiled over. So- I think you adjusted to your needs just fine! Good shot- I don't think it's boring at all.

Didn't even know about it so you're one-up on me. Don't think chopping vegies is all that interesting though. AM or PM?

I did even worse. Mine was at 3:15 and didn't post. Oh well. Kudos to you.

Stuff the rules..... Will happily follow that path at any time!

Ha ha ... I know the feeling. I decided in advance where I was going to be, and I set up the camera and tripod (in my garden) in advance. I set the phone alarm for 1745, was ready for action at exactly 1747, took two bursts of 5 shots, and then ran over with my iPhone to photograph the neighbour's cherry blossom - just in case my camera let me down. The light was so much nicer just half an hour earlier ... but I stuck to the right time. Then realised after I'd posted that my camera time is wrong - it was showing up as having been taken at 1808! A fun moment though! And your shot is great, by the way! I love that path through the snow with the person disappearing into the distance.

Wonderful shot. Mine was at 5:49 because I waited and waited and waited, then went to check the mail. Ugh.

was this near your home? i like the way the tiles fade as the walk narrows up ahead. your solitary figure added the oomph on this! aces!

i should've called you but i wasn't sure i could go out at five to take photos. i was all prepared to take another city shot from the 35th floor. but i managed around quarter after five, i told jenn @shutterbugger on facebook that the wallis crew should reconvene next year for the WWM, if we don't do it sooner.

First time for me this year and I had the same thoughts, in fact my camera apparently doesn't have the correct time on it! Never mind, it's a joy being a part of such a challenge and so interesting to see everyone else's shots xx

Lovely shot. What's 30 seconds?

Close is close enough. I struggled all day about what to do, where to be, had my husband watch the phone for the exact minute and then go. Well went early to take a test shot and happy that I did, since my camera is out of sync with the real world by one minute- damn! Got one but not my best of the bunch.
