Something happened on the way to the fireworks

Uhm... so.... yeah.... sparkler + PSE = etsooi mess... for the november list challenge...

Since there are no fireworks here today, I decided to play with sparklers... it was an interesting learning experience... darned things are hard to light! good news is i didn't actually set anything on fire ;p

Wanting to give the image some pizzazz, i started playing around with layers and gradients and stuff like that... only what i happen to know about layers in PSE would fit on the head of a pin (well - i DID watch a youtube video yesterday, so maybe a largish pin?)... the above is the result...

I am again reminded of two basic principles of photography:
1. follow the light
2. keep it simple

Failed miserably on both accounts today!

Great creativity to make your own firework display. ( I did exactly the same thing, yes they are hard to light, and I also managed not to burn anything...even my fingers were undamaged!)
