Old school - #363

We lost power last night for a couple of hours, at the exact moment we sat down to eat supper. Once we were finished and got the table cleared, the homework still needed to be done and I needed a picture. :)

I don't get many opportunities to use my oil lamp, but every time I do, it brings back many happy memories from my childhood.

Have a great day!
Lovely warm glow! Nice composition.

Love the narrative. Great composition, wonderful warm light and nice shadows. Funny to see that G. holds the pen the same way as I do.

Beautiful mellow glow to this image, Love the shadow of the lamp. We had a power cut last night too but it came straight back on thankfully before I had time to get the candles out. I think we had better get prepared for the winter and have them to hand. I wish I had a lovely oil lamp like yours!! Fav!

Lovely shot. No power for a couple of hours is quite romantic but any longer and it gets to be rather a pain.

A BIG "THANK YOU" for sharing your kind words and your stories too. I truly appreciate them all. :)

Ms. V, I'm glad we have flashlights now, as my girl would be, like you, reading by candle light in her room too. And I hope she would never put one under a blanket. I'm hoping you did not burn your house down. :)
