Great idea! I nearly got a pic of one of these too, then changed my mind at the last minute :) I like the composition, colour tones etc.
Re: May. I've been pondering. I'm thinking of doing week-by-week as you suggested, with a focus on technique more than content, e.g. week 1: use of light, week 2: monochrome, week 3: colour, week 4: focus, week 5: something new... What do you think?
@alia_801 Thanks Alia- I was dabbling with two ideas- the first was to take the current discussion called "One night stand" and just carry it out each week (so for example every Monday had the same subject/technique, every Tuesday same subject/technique... what's hard for me with these is that I don't have too many things I can do with my camera when it comes to technical things, but I try! The other was weekly as well. 1) May 1-5 "Inspired by..." taking a shot you admired by someone else and replicating it in your own style. 2) May 6-12 The merry merry month of May: choose 7 things that begin with M- 7 foods, 7 colors, 7 adjectives, 7 random things- it's your choice 3) May 13-19 Same subject or tell a story, or both. 4) May 20-26 Abstract or minimal 5) May 27- 31 Turn this way, turn that way. Choose one spot and take several shots in different directions from that vantage point. And then of course for any of these days there'd be a wildcard option- maybe one per week if needed. But any one of those weeks could easily be swapped out for a technique challenge or they could be the wildcards- there's a number of ways to go with this I think. Does any of that sound interesting? Should we try to blend them or not? I've got to head to bed, but I'll be back tomorrow night (I guess morning for you!). Looking forward to your thoughts!
@peterdegraaff Thanks Peter! Yes, I know. On my first trip to Israel I fried a hair dryer when I thought, "what's the difference? The plug fits, so why not try it without the adapter?"
@olivetreeann Sounds like fun! My big problem is that I'm really struggling for motivation/enthusiasm at the moment. It's winter here, and having just started a new job I don't have a lot of time to seek out photos - it has to be what I can grab in the few minutes available, often after dark. As long as the challenge words/ideas are open enough that I can get shots of whatever is to hand, without having to set anything up, find the 'right' objects or spend more than a few minutes chasing the pic, I'll be able to join in. I'd prefer more open ideas (e.g. same object/same place) words than specific ones (e.g. copying someone else's pics - I just don't have the time to track objects etc down... Hope that makes sense and doesn't sound too negative! I still want to join in with my challenge buddies!
@alia_801 Well, my world is about to go a little off kilter with traveling and attending to my dad, so, I see a lot of wisdom in your suggestion. So how does this sound: May 1-5: Color; May 6-12: black and white or monochrome; May 13-19: same subject; May 20-26: abstract or minimal; May 27-31: focus/macro Also: one wildcard per week if needed, but can only be used once: "inspired by" (copy of shot you admired by someone else), low light, anything beginning with the letter M, sooc, and street.
@summerfield thanks Vikki!
@karenann thanks Karenann! A little fun with cross processing and exposure on this one.

Thank you all and apologies for not naming you one by one as I usually do (because you deserve it!).
