30 Days in June- Day 25 by olivetreeann

30 Days in June- Day 25

I worked at Judy's again today and while I was heading home, I caught some of the work being done on Route 209 too. The traffic was just about to move as I turned my camera on, so it was a really quick snap, but I liked how random the shot is. You can even see a bit of my side mirror in it.
Very spontaneous and cool. The framing is perfect for the shot.

June 26th, 2012
Cool shot!

@allie912 Thanks Allison! I processed this one in Befunky- they call this a grunge frame. Seemed quite fitting for the subject matter!
@mrssmith Thank you Carla!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen!
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@lyoungs1023 Thanks Elizabeth!

Great capture, like your framing
June 26th, 2012
@wenbow Thanks Wendy- there's a really artsy free site called BeFunky.com which is where I processed this one and added the frame.
June 26th, 2012
Great candid capture of this, Ann ....love the lighting and the colors too. Wonderful processing ....really awesome.

pretty
June 26th, 2012
@karenann Thanks Karenann! It was a really quick shot- almost a last minute decision to take it, so it was kind of fun that it came out this well.
@kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!

Interesting photo, tis the season, a lot of construction in our area also.
June 26th, 2012
your side mirror blended in very well with the scenery. wonderful shot, ann.
June 26th, 2012
@rhubbard Thanks Rich! There is a joke going around that the new state motto is "Construction Ahead". (Of course that's not new but it still sounds funny!)
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! It was showing a bit more but the frame covers some of it really well.
June 26th, 2012
Love it!! and it looks like we both had the same idea with the pic-monkey frames!! lol!
June 26th, 2012
@ellimae Thanks Ellen- this one actually comes from BeFunky.com (another free on-line photo processing site)- it's called their "Grunge" frame- but yes, it's very similar to the new ones they just added to Picmonkey.

We are also surrounded by roadworks as the road is being upgraded! It has been estimated that Tulbagh will have road upgrade work going on for the next 3 to 5 years!
June 26th, 2012
Cool capture of the works in progress (and your wing mirror!) Excellent frame to match it too.
June 26th, 2012
Lovely capture and framing.
June 26th, 2012
Some quick shooting on your part Ann
June 26th, 2012
I love to stop and watch guys doing work with those kinds of huge machines. Love the processing. Very interesting shot.
June 26th, 2012
@salza Thanks Sally! This project has been in full swing for about that time now. Sadly the work could have been done in half the time and for a lot less money- but government agencies and unions get in the way, usually for financial reasons- the longer the project the more money they make.
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! I thought so too!
@sangwann Thanks Dione!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! It was one of those times the random shot just happened to work!
June 26th, 2012
@christiehicks Thanks Christie! I processed this one in BeFunky. They have some very interesting effects that make the photo look like a painting. This effect is called underpainting- I liked how it brightened the sky and punched up the red hat but still kept the shot looking like a photo more than a painting. They also have some fun frames under the "Grunge" listing and I thought that was a good match with construction workers!
June 26th, 2012
I like it! The blue of the sky really works against the muted colors of the machinery.
June 26th, 2012
Great processing ... like the yellow against the blue :)
June 26th, 2012
Bev
We all do it, Ann. This is a cool shot. I like the processing and the detail in it. A job well done :)
June 26th, 2012
Cool work shot. like the processing!
June 26th, 2012
Oh the framing goes so well with this machinery shot.
June 26th, 2012
Nice snap shot. We have so much construction going on around here too
June 27th, 2012
Cool shot! Love your processing!
June 27th, 2012
@dmariewms Thanks Marie!
@paulavdmerwe Thanks Paula!
@prttblues Thanks Bev!
@ruthmouch Thanks Ruth!
@sailingmusic Thanks Myrna!
@bkbinthecity Thank you Brian!
@ulpiphotos Thank you Ulpi!

Thanks to all! It was a quick shot, but came out well. The processing was done in BeFunky.com which has a lot of free processing features including this "grunge" frame that, as you noted, went perfectly with this shot. There are also a number of effects which are labeled as "artsy". They process the picture to look more like a painting. This one is called underpainting and I like the way it retains more of the photo.
June 27th, 2012
Your framing works well here!
June 27th, 2012
@twinsplusone Thanks Sharon! lol I had processed the picture with a different frame and then remembered this one- so I deleted the picture and started all over again- just for the "perfect" frame!
June 27th, 2012
I really like the processing on this. Very well captured too.
June 27th, 2012
@smithak Thank you Smitha!
June 27th, 2012
Cool candid street shot and the framing works well with the subject.

June 27th, 2012
@cimes1 Thanks Carole!
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie!
June 28th, 2012

June 28th, 2012
@bruni Thanks Bruni!
June 28th, 2012
Glad to see I am not the only one who takes sneaky shots from the car window :)
June 29th, 2012
@nicolecampbell lol Nicole- I do it all the time but they don't always come out as well as this one did!
June 29th, 2012
That is a brilliant image. Love the framing.
July 1st, 2012
@la_photographic Thanks Laura- it really was all chance that it came out this well. The frame is from BeFunky. They have a lot of artistic effects and frames there.
