I worked at Judy's again today and while I was heading home, I caught some of the work being done on Route 209 too. The traffic was just about to move as I turned my camera on, so it was a really quick snap, but I liked how random the shot is. You can even see a bit of my side mirror in it.
@allie912 Thanks Allison! I processed this one in Befunky- they call this a grunge frame. Seemed quite fitting for the subject matter! @mrssmith Thank you Carla! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @lyoungs1023 Thanks Elizabeth!
@karenann Thanks Karenann! It was a really quick shot- almost a last minute decision to take it, so it was kind of fun that it came out this well. @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
@rhubbard Thanks Rich! There is a joke going around that the new state motto is "Construction Ahead". (Of course that's not new but it still sounds funny!) @summerfield Thanks Vikki! It was showing a bit more but the frame covers some of it really well.
@ellimae Thanks Ellen- this one actually comes from BeFunky.com (another free on-line photo processing site)- it's called their "Grunge" frame- but yes, it's very similar to the new ones they just added to Picmonkey.
We are also surrounded by roadworks as the road is being upgraded! It has been estimated that Tulbagh will have road upgrade work going on for the next 3 to 5 years!
@salza Thanks Sally! This project has been in full swing for about that time now. Sadly the work could have been done in half the time and for a lot less money- but government agencies and unions get in the way, usually for financial reasons- the longer the project the more money they make. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! I thought so too! @sangwann Thanks Dione! @digitalrn Thanks Rick! It was one of those times the random shot just happened to work!
@christiehicks Thanks Christie! I processed this one in BeFunky. They have some very interesting effects that make the photo look like a painting. This effect is called underpainting- I liked how it brightened the sky and punched up the red hat but still kept the shot looking like a photo more than a painting. They also have some fun frames under the "Grunge" listing and I thought that was a good match with construction workers!
Thanks to all! It was a quick shot, but came out well. The processing was done in BeFunky.com which has a lot of free processing features including this "grunge" frame that, as you noted, went perfectly with this shot. There are also a number of effects which are labeled as "artsy". They process the picture to look more like a painting. This one is called underpainting and I like the way it retains more of the photo.
@twinsplusone Thanks Sharon! lol I had processed the picture with a different frame and then remembered this one- so I deleted the picture and started all over again- just for the "perfect" frame!
@la_photographic Thanks Laura- it really was all chance that it came out this well. The frame is from BeFunky. They have a lot of artistic effects and frames there.
