The wooden scoop in this shot would actually have been used for wheat flour, but it really gave this shot a rustic, country feel of old-fashioned oats before they hit the hot water and become oatmeal. And, lest you're wondering, that's oatmeal bread.
@httpgeffed Thanks- I was curious because my daughter-in-law is glutten free and I always like to have things on hand that she can eat when they come to visit. I usually pick up most things at our supermarket which has a pretty good selection of glutten free products. But something like this, I'd probably go to the health food store now that I know better.
@olivetreeann They have an Irish kind that Mc...something you can get at most regular stores. You might ask if she can have oats, some people can't have them. Good luck!
@allie912 Thank you Allison. It was sort of interesting putting this shot together, because originally I had something similar in mind. But then I started playing with the elements and ended up with this composition. I immediately felt it was "comfortable" like a bowl of warm oatmeal and I knew this was the shot.
looks like a page from an old Life magazine. it does give off the rustic feel. (as you can see i'm goofing off from work - in the office but goofing off tee-hee! oh, wait a minute, we're allowed 15 minutes for breaks! so not really goofing off.)
Thank you Henri!
