Jumped into the archives for this shot. It was taken last May when Jeff and I went to Cape May, NJ for the day to celebrate our anniversary. I'm always dreaming about going to the shore. It is a favorite place of mine. I always dream about maybe renting a house on the beach for a week or two and waking up to the sound of the ocean every day or falling asleep to the lull of the waves each night. Ahhhhhhh!
Oh I love the archival quality of this...matches perfectly. The old corners and touch of distress. love the diagonal fence rail and road lines. What a nice trip, and I share that dream too!
Thank you all for those nice comments!! I did shoot this picture in sepia, but what was interesting was how Ribbet's new vintage effect darkened it. I liked it much better in the deeper brown. Jumped over to Picmonkey for the photo corners. Can't wait to go back there again!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! I am really pleased with the way it came out. I was going to post a different shot, but then remembered I'd posted it already! So I went with this one instead.
@mrssmith I do love the ocean! But I think I'd like being in a wide open corn field too. Anything with a big sky overhead and lots of space. Thanks Carla!
I stayed right by the sea once in a motel and couldn't sleep for the sound of the waves smashing against the concrete promenade! A tropical island would probably have those gentle waves swishing in. This is a good shot of a nice looking trail!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! Oh, I'm sorry the waves kept you awake! I have no problem with the sound- it's pretty to me. @sgiesman Thank you Sarah! Cape May is one of the prettiest ocean towns in NJ! @lfrans Thank you Liane! Thankfully this is one dream I can actually fulfill! @henrir Thank you Henri! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! @demmie Thank you Demmie! @filsie65 Thank you Phil! This is a "dream" that is easily fulfilled- it's not too too far away. It's just a matter of finding the time to go!
Thank you everyone! So glad you like the shot. It really is one of my most favorite places in the world!!
Thank you Matthew, Janice, Alia, Laraine, Dione (you are so blessed!!). Ruth, MaryBeth, Carole, and Laura!
Thank you one and all! The nicest part about this dream is that it's not too far away to make it a reality. All I have to do is make the time to go. But it is a beautiful place and I'm glad the picture did it justice.
@bruni Thank you Bruni! As you know I basically just play with the picture until I find what I like, but I did shoot this one in sepia to begin with so when I went to process it I wanted to keep that vintage look.
it's not a far fetched dream, you know. you never know. i like how you processed this to give it a dreamy and vintage look. the end of the lane disappears into the unknown and anytime we'll wake up to the fact that the vacuum cleaner or the sink awaits! :-) great shot and processing, ann.
@summerfield How did I miss all these comments you left me in March? I'm telling you when my world gets turned upside down as it has this week for my wood floor- I am totally off my game! Thanks Vikki!
