Vermont Barn

We went up to the cemetery to place a grave marker on my parents' tombstone. The sun was shinning, the fall colors in full splendor and the air was cooler on top of the mountain. Coming back down in to town we passed this lovely barn and we stopped so I could get a few shots. I would have liked to stayed a bit longer to compose a better view, but there was a dog in the farmhouse who was barking quite loudly and we didn't want to upset him any longer.

yes, those boards are looking very nice. damn those dogs. if i have my way, i'd go by myself to these farms, what stops me is the possibility of dog running after me. been there done that. i have so much respect for dogs to upset them. this is a cool shot anyway, ann. love that golden-leafed tree juxtaposed next to the texture of the barn boards. excellent job!

Definitely rustic New England. My family lived in Vermont for 4 years before I started school. I remember bits and pieces and my parents had great stories to tell.
