Lighthouse Steps

It was lovely to be able to go inside the lighthouse while we were on Fingal Island. An opportunity you don't get when you just walk across The Spit because the lighthouse is locked unless it is for an official tour as this day was.

I have been over to the island a couple of times in the past but walked across the spit on those occasions. It was lovely to go on a boat out there and also be able to climb the lighthouse which is locked unless there is an official tour out there.

The view from the top was fabulous. I don't know how many steps there are and wasn't able to count them because I was talking to my pal Sharon on the way up and down because she isn't good with heights and I had to reassure her. She did manage it though. Our legs were aching by the time we got back down again.
