I am back home again after a horrible journey in dense freezing fog.The A1M was closed at Scotch Corner and we had an hours detour through winding country roads unable to see very much as the fog was so thick.
I will be sharing a few more shots of the Yorkshire Dales over the next days.
We arrived home to find the central heating was not working and the house was freezing cold!! After a call to British Gas I finally persuaded them to send an engineer out today and not 5th January which was the first day you could get on-line!! The house is very slowly warming up but my hands are freezing!!
Glad you managed to get them out now and not have to wait until 5th. Stunning view. One of the first things that popped into my head when I saw the title was cheese! I have heard mention of Wensleydale cheese somewhere.
I like the layers of ridges in this image. But oh gosh -- what an experience getting home -- horrible way to end a trip. Did you know that @jyokota also had no heat (upstairs, fortunately, not in the whole house) when they returned from their trip with us and with their family coming in? Winter can be a miserable time!!
@taffy Oh no poor Jinko that's just what she needed - NOT!! It takes so long for the cold house to heat up again!! I am taking a hot water bottle to bed with me tonight!!
Hoping you have warmer house by now. Fortunately, we have heat downstairs in the house, so it's the upstairs bedrooms that are cold so we bought a space heater for each bedroom.
@jyokota Central heating all sorted thank you Junko and the house is all cosy and warm thankfully!! I hope you are keeping warm upstairs!! Happy New Year to you!!
@pamknowler -- Whew, heat is good to have! We have to replace our upstairs furnace but the small room heaters are working while we have family for the holidays. And it's warm downstairs. Happy New Year to you, too!
Sorry re the trip and cold arrival. This is like very though. If you want help with substituting sky in you other shot in the days ahead, I'd be happy to help. We can do it in topaz
