Teenage girls in the city

Taffy took Rosie and me to Union Station where we were lucky enough to be taken on a tour of the train lines. A very special time as the public are not normally allowed in that area. Taffy used her special charm and suddenly we were following this chap under the city to the train lines.
This photo was taken just before we went on our tour. As we walked through the hall at Union Station there were a number of Amish people and I was fascinated by their clothes. I spotted these two young girls standing at the bottom of the escalator looking up as if they couldn't decide whether to get on or not. Together they stepped on and rode up to the light. They had darker clothes on which were different from the other girls and women we saw. I need to find out more about these young girls.

A bit like nuns but even they don't have to wear the full garb nowadays!

This is a lovely shot Pam, something about the dress & innocence in this day & age. Great capture!

Great pov looking upwards at these two old-fashioned looking girls, almost a snapshot from past times. As @maggiemae said, they remind me of nuns back when they used to wear the full rigout.

I have been reading about the Amish and I can't help wondering why they were in Chicago as they come from Pennsylvania!

Love the then and now feel ofthis. When Dave and I holidayed in America in 2003 we spent 10 days in Goshen, Indiana, exploring The Amish region. We went to a flea/farmers market and had a great meal in an Amish restaurant.
