Keswick Lighting Up by pcoulson

Keswick Lighting Up

Climbed Latrigg to get a sunset over Keswick in the English Lake District, another nonevent so waited for the town to switch the lights on, note the time 10:24 pm and exposure of 30 seconds, it was a little challenging getting down in the dark, BOB
Patience is a virtue. We have Keswick Island on the southern end of the Whitsundays. This is my first view of Keswick town. Lovely capture of the lights.

A lovely view. I had forgotten just how late in the evenings it gets dark in the UK during summer.

Looks good on black.

Thank you for your comment Margaret not one of the best shots of Keswick like the Whitsundays it is full of tourist all year round, I have had three separate holidays sailing in the Whitsundays using Hamilton Island as a start and finish point one of my favourite places in the world:)

@onewing Thank you Babs it was not the clearest of evenings, I got down to my car about 11:30pm and it was not completely dark then, I will return and have another go at getting a sunset over Keswick this summer:)

Lovely. Don't you hate it when sunsets/sunrises don't eventuate when you are all prepared for them.

@terryliv You go up there with great expectation and end with nothing but a shot of street lights, lol:)

i like Keswick. As i became more disabled it became one of my favourite walking haunts.. Nothing too strenuous but exhilarating just the same.. the town can become a little crowded but nothing like Windermere or Bowness.. the hills are never far for a quick get away..
Peter, i like this view of the town and the receding planes are delightful..
