This is Nigel he retired 3 years ago after 35 years at sea, he told me he had sat down with his wife to discuss what they were going to do once he retired, they agreed to sell the house, car in fact everything and purchase a canal boat and live on the canals, I asked him if they had made the right decision he said absolutely, their grandchildren had just spent half term with them on the boat and enjoyed it to.
A great portrait of Nigel, and such a wonderful narrative! You are not only a photographer, Peter- you're a journalist as well. I love how you engaged with Nigel to find out about his life! Fav
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel for your lovely comment and Fav it’s appreciated, I was inspired by the ones you post, always talking to them first asking to take their photograph only asking their first name, it’s amazing what you can discover about the person:)
@anniesue Thank you so much for your great comment and adding it as a Fav. Annie-Sue it’s appreciated, Nigel said good morning to all that passed by his boat so I took the opportunity to engage with him:)
@365projectorgheatherb Many thanks for both your great comment and Fav Heather as always its appreciated, must be quite a change from riding on the high seas for 35years:)
