Today was spent with family over lunch and then a walk in Battersea Park (if you don't know it, imagine a smaller version of New York's Central Park).
Opened in 1858, the Park occupies 200 acres along the south bank of the Thames opposite Pimlico and Chelsea, right in the centre of London. It was created from marshland that was formerly small farm plots, used to grow vegetables and flowers for London markets. Opened by Queen Victoria, the surrounding roads are named after her and members of the Royal Family of the day. My daughter (who hosted the lunch) lives along Prince of Wales Drive.
Anyway, there were lots of fallen leaves (as you might imagine) and my daughter-in-law decided to give hubby a leaf shower. You can tell he was highly amused - well, the rest of us were, anyway!
Many thanks for all your comments over recent days - all very much appreciated.
