Today I started a new work contract in the north of England, some distance from home. It is quite near a place which holds many dear memories of my childhood - Blackpool. Every autumn half term my Dad would bring the family here for a weekend to "see the lights" - the famous Blackpool illuminations. This included the trams, which were decked out in strings of coloured flashing lights.
Many thanks for all of your recent comments, all are very much appreciated.
Funily enough I was in Blackpool and Preston today, in very poor weather conditions, so the photos that I took may not be very good. I like your pov in this shot, and a number of familiar landmarks - fav!
@fbailey Of course! Whilst I still feel in my thirties, my body doesn't agree with me! This is one of the times that I use the new fangled Live View facility and can see the image on the rear screen.
We used to go there for day trips when I was a child and lived in Lancashire.
We used to see the illuminations too and if I remember rightly it was always freezing cold.
Thanks for sharing your memories as a child
fav
