This is the Imperial Hotel, Blackpool. Opened in 1867, an early guest was Charles Dickens; in more recent history, Queen Elizabeth and other members of the current Royal Family have stayed, as have most British Prime Ministers of the 20th Century (Blackpool was throughout this period a major political conference venue). Nowadays, the glory has rather faded somewhat, but this facade still has its Victorian, and Imperial, feel.
This was one of the few hotels I photographed while I was there on Tuesday. It's a very impressive building and I like your photo of it. I like the blue sky - that was missing when I was there!
@fishers Ian, I used a Lightroom Preset called "Direct Positive". It normally works well for shots taken south of Lyons, but here it looks slightly obvious and over blown to my eye. On the day, I didn't really have the time to go back to first principles.
