@jackie8 It's one of the few Gordon Ramsay recipes that I return to again and again, a course ratatouille, with tomatoes, peppers, courgettes and aubergine, then some simple pan-fried fish fillets (trout, salmon, red mullet, whatever), and I usually serve with roast or new potatoes. Gorgeous!
Your comment puts me in mind of the opening of the novel "The Girl with the Pearl Earring", where Griet is preparing the vegetables for the dinner. There are some good still life shots to be had in the kitchen, as the Old Masters knew.
@mercuria Ariel, you have just hit on one of my most favourite books of all time. The film is a wonderful cinematographic experience, I annoy my family by pausing on shots just to admire the images....
