LCDR Sign Blackfriars

For the trains album - this 1864 sign on Blackfriars Bridge signals the opening of the original line to Dover and the Kent coast by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway and its terminus on the south bank of the Thames at Blackfriars. This station was soon to be subsumed by a larger main line station (in 1886) which traversed the river and had entrances on both north and south banks.
Great capture, I loved to walk along the banks of the Thames.
