I Heard it Through the Grapevine

I visited a friend today who had this gorgeous grapevine. My husband and I felt bad for taking a few clusters, then our friend said... "Don't worry, we have 'lots more," then ushered us to her backyard to show us. The vines and all it produced mesmerized me! She also loaded my husband and I down with freshly picked pears and plums. Lucky us!

I always love reading about what will grow in SoCal! That's a delicious assortment! We once had an amazing Santa Rosa plum tree, but at 5 AM years ago, a milk truck driver fell asleep, jumped the curb, took out the wall AND my beautiful tree, never to be the same! ...now I have plentiful guava!
