I took this pre-lunar eclipse photo around 10:00 last night. The clouds were obviously starting to roll in. Woke up a little while ago to watch and shoot the eclipse only to find a solid blanket of clouds, fog, and even a little bit of sleet falling. Oh darn. The last full lunar eclipse to take place on a winter solstice was in 1638...looks doubtful I'll have a chance to see another one. :) Happy Winter Solstice, everyone!
Peggy, this is just beautiful. Love the clouds around the moon and the detail you were able to get. Nice full moon capture. Too many clouds I was not able to capture, but did see it through the haze!
@girlie Another lunar eclipse in April 2014...might have my new camera figured out by that time. The next lunar eclipse to fall on a winter solstice will be in 2090...I can only imagine what cameras will be like then. :)
@carlywebber@cccoupland@emsabh Thanks for the nice comments, Carly, Chris and Art. I was glad to at least get a full moon shot before the clouds completely obscured the view. :)
@seattle@rafaelseno Thanks for the very nice comments!

@girlie@peggysirk australians will actually have two chances at full lunar eclipse's in 2011, so robin its only 5 months away and hopefully some good weather hehe.
