@judithg Thanks, Judith! Camellias in our corner of the planet bloom in the fall and winter. Camellia 'sasanqua' are early blooming in Sept. and Oct. And camellia 'japonica' start to bloom in Nov. and Dec. and continue blooming till springtime. They are frost and snow hardy which seems unlikely for such a delicate looking blossom. :)
Beautiful Peggy & I thought they were only a very early Spring flower ..an amazing plant producing those delicate looking flowers when it's quite cold !
@peggysirk Wow - my mum and dad have a lovely one (I wonder who gave it too them?!) and they are in and out of the house with fleece and alsorts protecting it in the spring. So nice to have these making it feel like summer in the winter!
How pretty - looks like an inspiration for a Waverly fabric. Now I will have to Google and see how far north they can be grown. Probably not in places that have already had snow.
