Lizard

This poor little guy seems to have lost something. I read that lizards will often shed their tails to escape a predator. The tail will regenerate, but it will not be a perfect replacement of the original. That looks to be the case with this fellow.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. :)
At least it's good to see that he managed to escape! Nice capture, Peggy. Do you know what kind of lizard this one is?

@girlie I believe it is a common short-tail. Snicker.

@girlie @bpaquette ~ I always called these 'garden' lizards, but I looked it up and I think it's actually an Eastern Fence Lizard which are very common in North Carolina. Although I like Barbara's answer better. :)
