Monday's are my chemo days and when it's beautiful outside I feel so bad about not being able to do anything worthwhile. On a marvelous rainy Monday like this I have no problem crawling back into bed and looking forward to tomorrow! :)
A really bad photo...but I just stuck my camera out the door and took what I could get. :) Hope everyone is having a great start to the week!
Looks like a great day for staying in bed, Peggy. Didn't know you were on chemo; is this for the RA? Feel so sorry for you going through that. I've been able to get through things with the Mx.
@girlie Yes, it's for the RA ~ in an attempt to knock down the overactive immune system. It's very low dose compared to what cancer patients have to endure...but enough to make me feel a little rough for a day. I'm seriously thinking about trying the new biologics if my insurance company will agree. Otherwise, at $3,500US a month, it's a bit pricey for a long-term treatment without guaranteed results and very risky/scary side effects. Still thinking about that course of action. In the meantime, I'll keep hoping for spontaneous remission! :) Hope you've been doing well, Robin...or as well as can be expected...chins up, right?
@joetheartist Thanks for the good thoughts, Joe. It's treatment for an autoimmune inflammatory disease and it seems to be keeping things from progressing at such a fast rate. As an artist you might be interested to know that Pierre-Auguste Renoir had the same disease, RA ~ after several years, when his hands were too crippled to hold a brush, he had his studio assistants tie his paint brushes to his hands. I try to think about stories like that when I start feeling too sorry for myself. :)
It's not a bad photo...we do what we can do...and yours came out just perfect for depicting your Mondays. Like the RA isn't bad enough - you have to put poison in your body. Keep strong. It's so hard with an auto-immune disease to not let it take over your life. (My daughter has Crohn's) Hugs to you!!!
@bpaquette Thanks, Barbara! You are so right about not letting a disease define you...as you would know from your daughter's struggle with Crohn's. Sending positive thoughts her way!!
I see the grass in the centre is the same color as the grass in the foreground - mmm , point to ponder :-)
Every Monday - That sux ! praying for remission x x
i love your attitude towards life and your illness, appreciating little things like the rain, meaning you don't feel guilty about snuggling up and spending the day in bed :)
so sorry that you're unwell and wishing you more 'better' days to come :)
