The annual neighborhood home tour is this weekend. For lack of anything better to photograph, I thought I'd take some shots of some of the houses on the tour. With a few exceptions of complete rebuilds, most of the houses in the neighborhood were built in the early 1900's. The architecture is rather diverse...Victorian, Colonial, Craftsman, Federal, European...but this is one of the few homes with a Mediterranean influence. I thought I had a decent shot until I got home and saw that the sun glare is a bit overwhelming. Oh well, I'll try to do a better job with the next one. :)
Three Good Things:
1. The guys who were cutting the grass saw me installing a new car seat for Harper, stopped what they were doing, came hurrying over saying they knew all about the process ~ and had it in within minutes. It would have taken me considerably longer. :)
2. An absolutely spectacular late summer day ~ sunny and mild. AC off and windows open!!
3. A good book to finish tonight.
A home tour, does that mean you get to take a look round other peoples homes Peggy, would love that nosy parker that I am!!! Sounds a great mix of styles & I like a place that has different types of houses.
What wonderful helpers you had there way above the call of grass mowing! If you don't mind what is your good book called?
@happypat Pat, the home tour is a big event every year and a huge fundraiser for neighborhood projects. It is fun to see what people do with decorating and remodeling. I'm reading "A Simple Act of Violence" by R.J. Ellory (a 2010 best mystery winner). If you like mysteries, it's a good one...it's keeping me reading late into the night. :)
@peggysirk Thank Peggy will look it up on my Kindle!!! Like all sorts of books so always ready for a new one. One of my favourite authors is American, Douglas Kennedy, have you read any of his?
