This is last night's almost-full-moon. The clouds from the outer bands of the hurricane parted long enough to get a few quick shots. Although the storm is moving on up the coast toward the NE, we are under a wind advisory today here in Charlotte, NC. Even 200 miles inland the forecast is calling for 35 mph winds with gusts of 45 mph. In a neighborhood full of huge old trees we can almost count on a few falling limbs causing some issues with power outages. We had a few cable/Internet interruptions off and on yesterday. Certainly nothing on the level they are expecting further to the north, but I'm posting early to avoid any possible minor frustrations later. Good thoughts to all in the path of Hurricane Sandy. Be safe!
that looks an angry sky Peggy! My daughter went on holiday to north Carolina when she was seventeen & always remember her photos of the NC wooden houses on stilts on the coast near Kitty Hawk where they stayed...do hope the damage is minimal, take care!!!
Those level winds count as a major storm for us. Must be really scary when then start getting stronger. Love your moody moon shot - sums up the impending threat.
Boy, we’re feeling strong winds all the way over here! I can’t imagine being in the midst of it. Love the spooky moon shot. It was clear here this morning and the moon was huge and hovering over the horizon. Unfortunately, needing to stop and take pictures is not a valid excuse for being late for work.
